Our Story

DCS Norway AS entered the electrical design market in 2021, following sister company DCS UK’s electrical project management leadership for an award-winning pair of data centers outside of Oslo, Norway. We have now designed multiple projects up to 200MW and are focused on designing the most innovative and efficient solutions on the market.

We entered the substation design-and-build market in 2022, supporting the build of one of the largest data centers in Europe which we also designed. The move was organic, leveraging our CEO’s roots in HV engineering and CTO’s extensive specialism in the global substation market. DCS Norway is now purely focused on HV and MV projects.

We have developed our unrivaled supply chain that enables us to design, procure and build substations at the fast pace of the data center industry.

Our Team

DCS Norway AS has been established following multiple highly successful data center and high voltage projects in Norway. Our team consists of local technical experts and is bolstered by international engineers. All our staff are experienced within the data center, heavy industrial, and high voltage industries throughout the Nordics, Europe and further afield.

Marcel Van Mellaerts

CEO

A Chartered Professional Engineer with extensive experience in design, installation, project management and commissioning of projects. Operational projects include data centers, high voltage substations and power stations in multiple countries across the world, including the UK, Pacific Islands, New Zealand and Scandinavia. Marcel is driven to create innovative and forward-thinking solutions for clients which inherently better our world.

Olindo Pereira

CTO

Olindo boasts over 33 years of specialized experience, solidifying his position at the forefront of the power industry with leadership in AIS Transmission substation projects. Offering end-to-end lifecycle solutions for voltage levels ranging from 30 to 500kV, Olindo has served a diverse international portfolio across the countries such as Portugal, Ireland, Chile, Angola, France, Peru, Colombia, and Mozambique. Olindo is committed to energy transition as well to delivering powerful solutions that foster
advancement and heightened efficiency.

Brad Brubaker

CFO

Brad is a highly experienced Finance and Operations leader who has leveraged his corporate background to become an expert in start-up and scale up environments. Having led Finance, HR, IT, and Operations at both local and global levels, he brings a wealth of experience in building teams and culture; scaling organizations and capabilities; and stabilizing rapidly growing businesses through professionalization and strategic leadership. Brad has unwavering commitment to maximizing companies and the people who make them run without compromising on high ethical standards or a human-centric focus.

Hugo Diogo

Head of High Voltage Design & Budgeting

With over 20 years of professional experience, Hugo is dedicated to developing high and medium voltage energy infrastructure solutions — including AIS, GIS, mobile and containerized substations, as well as battery energy storage systems and photovoltaic renewable projects. He has delivered reliable and innovative solutions for utilities and the electrical industry across Europe, Angola, Mozambique, Iraq, Algeria, and Libya.

Throughout his career, Hugo has combined technical excellence with a strong commitment to quality, safety, and innovation, contributing to the energy transition and the successful delivery of critical power infrastructure.

Our integrated management system

DCS Norway is a registered company established in 2021, specializing in electrical engineering design, procurement and construction management services for high and medium voltage systems and its associated infrastructure.

DCS Norway (DCS) has an integrated Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality Management System (IMS) based on the principles of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.

The CEO and all personnel of DCS are committed to:

provide high-quality, reliable services in the design and management of projects that meet, or exceeds, customer needs and expectations;
Provide safe and healthy working conditions for the prevention of work-related injury and/or ill health;
protect the environment, including prevention of pollution, reducing carbon footprint, reducing water footprint and reducing energy consumption, assuming an environmentally friendly environment;
